St Mathias | Community Father Tony is young and very Paulist like if you will. He has welcomed the Newman Center community as one of four parishes combining together which is quite welcoming. There are 22 cultures in the church along with 3 different bilingual services. The members are diverse, welcoming and kind. Mass is colorful as folks arrive in traditional clothing. Music ranges from piano with choir to string quartet with the Tugaoen brothers to East African music with drums. Father Tony’s homilies are quite inspiring Welcoming Community and Fr Tony Davis support of us. St Patrick Episcopal Church – Dublin | A totally welcoming community & a spiritually alive community that encourages social justice and honest spiritual growth.
St. Agatha | I went to school there and it is close to my home from 8th grade there and was an altar boy for many years.
St. Brigid of Kildare | Good music, a few other Newman “refugees”. Would rather have a 10:00, instead of 9:00 or 11:00 but it seems that no Catholic church in Columbus has a 10:00. The Bishop must have outlawed them.
St. Francis of Assisi | Welcoming and diverse community. Also enjoy the meditation songs after communion. | Lynn Eshleman, lamaf14@yahoo.com, 614-271-0775 |
St. John’s Episcopal | Open and accepting community, open communion, preaching is thoughtful and love-based, pastor is young, smart, friendly, I didn’t have to change anything I believe or practice to join, it’s very supportive and friendly | Jennifer Hughes jenniferannhughes@gmail.com |
St. Mark’s Episcopal | The pastor’s commitments to inclusion and social justice. Her sermons are also very good – much like the Paulist’s. The church is beautiful, the members of the church are welcoming, the music is top drawer, the church is involved in a number of community services/social justice matters, and the priest, Vicki Zust, always delivers a wonderful sermon. | kgengler70@gmail.com Jack D’Aurora, jdaurora@behallaw.com; 614/668–6628 |
St.James the Less | We live relatively close in Clintonville. Drawn to the mission of the order serving there, Sons of the Precious Blood. Diverse, welcoming congregation. Lots of Mass times helpful for our busy family | Ellen (Manovich) Janzen 937.750.3512 |
